Average player positions Conte v Postecoglou.

In our last game under Conte (against relegation-bound Southampton) we averaged 5 in their half. Under Ange against Brentford in his first competitive game we have only 2 and with every single other position further forward.

Some people say playing this way is naïve. I say it's bold, brave, and commited. A statement of intent. What do you think?

It's a lot more fun to watch at least.

Amen. I just want to see some fight in the team, it's been missing since 2018

The main difference looks to be the role of the midfielders. Under Conte they were essentially a guard for the defensive line but the players we had weren't suited to that role and the defense was just exposed even a low block.

Under Ange the Midfielders support the attack and while our front 3 weren't that effective against Brentford they weren't isolated like before. Bissouma is such a key player and I can't wait to see how Bentancur plays in this system

Van de Ven's pace makes a high line less suicidal.

Dav also did a great recovery run in the first half v Brentford. I think he had his best game for years.

Dier can move fast in a straight line, once he gets going, but his agility and acceleration just aren't great.
