Good morning. 🌼😃☕
21June 2025
Yesterday, one of our grandchildren called to reassure my wife that he’d be there to take care of us when the time comes. A daughter had said much the same not long ago. And I found myself thinking, “Oh gosh, what must we look like from the outside?” Truth be told, we both have our quirks and health puzzles—as anyone does, the longer they live. But when your children and grandchildren start regularly reminding you, they’ve got your back, it gives you pause. We have great-grandchildren now, though by the time they’re grown, we’ll likely be gone. Still, we remain fully capable of managing our own lives, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Happy thoughts, happy thoughts.

@Swede1952@universeodon.com It shows that you raised loving kids who raised loving kids. That's priceless!

Thank you—but I believe it speaks to an innate goodness in them.

@Swede1952@universeodon.com as someone in a similar position to your children (and Mum is not as well as you), if I could have you know one thing is that it's coming from a place of love. Please let them help when and if you need it. They're happy to.

@Swede1952@universeodon.com What an odd phone call! It's one thing to say such a thing during a conversation, but to call about it?

Apparently, it’s not as unusual as we thought—it’s happened more than once. I may not have described it clearly; the remark came up during a call, though it wasn’t necessarily the main reason for the call.
