I guess "Botan Rice Candy" was invented in 1924 in Japan. The transparent "plastic" wrapper is made of rice starch and is edible. Makes me wonder if....

Does this mean we're going to dump even more plastic in the ocean because that's the cheapest way to dissolve it?
