Thats what they invented orcid for didnt they? So your citations are linked to a number as well and not only your Name. Citations are also a Problem when you have a very common first and last Name....
That said its not cool that the government forces Thema to change.

one of my professors at the university told us women to not change our names because "it'll affect your citations" and apparently he was right
