There is already an app that does Bluetooth mesh networking; is peer-to-peer, open source, and doesn't have the grubby hands of this CEO prick over it. Oh and it puts all your messengers through Tor for extra security.

@thenewoil@mastodon.thenewoil.org I’ve thought about this. Would be great if an app like Signal would have direct and P2P message exchange as well, as a fallback to cloud routing. But the amount of work the app would need to do in the background would be a huge problem.
