It really always has been. I mean The Office itself is a remake already. Everything builds on other works, some more directly than others. I genuinely don't think it correlates much with quality overall.
What an unhinged take. The Office has aged better than almost any other sitcom ever made. This show isn’t a rehash at all, it’s literally a whole different show with an entirely different story and cast of characters.

Are we unable to make new things anymore? It seems everything now is a spinoff or a remake or based on something from some other medium.

Remakes are almost always a commercial success. New things are more at risk to fail, and thus cost money

Some platforms are doing a good job of green lighting new stuff.

Eh the complaint is valid for movies, TV has a lot of originality rn.

Lemmy sure is a depressing place because for some reason, without exception, everyone always has to be cynical and apathetic about everything.

This does not need to exist except to pad the pockets of whoever owns the IP

I'm intrigued but have a lot else to watch and catch up on so will wait until the season is mostly done to check it out.

Oh, I'm so excited to see a rehash of this washed up hasn't-aged-well sitcom by you-know-who can only tell one joke.
