May I be the pundit of the thread and specify that Napoleon III was not emperor anymore in 1875 as he had lost the war against Prussia and was deposited when the Third Republic was declared in 1970 1870 ?

The opera was nonetheless ordered by him and stands as the epitome of 19th century luxury building celebrating the wealth of the ruling class. Does it sound Marxist? Who knows?

They meant you have a typo 1970 instead of 1870
