My dream job is taking a 50% paycut to do literally anything else that requires 20% of the stress and gets me out of the house. Which could be damn near any other job. But I also like money so here I am
I'm in the same boat. I know I'll survive with 50% of my current pay if i have a less stressful job but then all IT jobs are stressful, some just pay way worse for the same type of work.
Finding a job which won't turn stressful after a while is really hard.
Haha no shit but it never gets better no matter how many leave and cite too much work as the reason. Hr/management just plugs their ears and says “maybe another t-shirt day a month will fix this”

That tracks with my experience as that time period covers the start of my career.
That being said, it goes back even farther.

Not in IT. IT was a sleepy job where you used to babysit a mainframe or two that never broke. Shit hit the fan when PCs entered the fray.
