I have an amazing setup at home with Jellyfin and other self-hosted apps.

Now I'd like to get away from Roku and I think the easiest way to do that would likely be an unGoogled Android TV box.

Does anyone know of an UnGoogled Android TV box?

If not, any suggestions for an out of the box TV setup that will let me run Android or Roku without the spyware and ads?

@serge@babka.social you might find https://konstakang.com/devices/rpi5/LineageOS22/ interesting

@zlatin

Good call, but I don't want to start building devices.

Maybe someone clever will take this, put a nice little case around it, bundle a remote (bluetooth remote would be better than IR remote) and sell it. If they did, I'd buy one, but I don't want to build this myself.

@serge@babka.social just out of curiosity: what other services are you running? And why Jellyfin? Is it better then Plex? (thats what i am running)

@Nyme@chaos.social

Jellyfin is Free Software, is a big one. :)

We also run Audiobookshelf

wg-easy

MotionEye

We were looking at Storyteller but my little server can't handle it.

@serge@babka.social I'm not far from this same thing. contemplating a pi4 with a skip 1s flirc. I've just not got around to really doing the project.
