Are you using DMC 310 for the black? Try using 4 ply instead of 2 (and a laying tool) for better coverage, or use my trick and sub in DMC 939 for black. DMC 939 is a very, very dark blue that is almost black. For some reason, DMC 310 is super thin and doesn't give great coverage.

I'll have to keep that in mind. I am using 310. I don't notice it too much looking directly at it. I almost can't fathom using 4 strands. Especially as much as the pattern calls for. 😅
