How's the heat?

We had a thunderstorm and it's still too hot

Woke up to grey skies, still very warm but at least not directly sunny, and thought "hey, I can probably go walk into town and collect my parcel without literally dying".

I should probably have checked the small print on the weather forecast where it was at 84% humidity.

Avenge me.

Your hands have now reached the consistency and temperature of tea

AVENGE. ME.

I hate everything. I'm sat in front of a fan on full pelt and I'm still sweating the bit out.

I've got sandals on. SANDALS. Does this answer your question?

In Scotland?

The rain has just brought extra humidity, it seems to have made things worse.

Pub with no Aircon house with no Aircon, I'd go chill in Aldi, but I'd probably get weird looks.

Park yourself in the middle aisle, nobody questions what they find there

17 degrees and raining. Absolutely loving it!

It's so muggy. I'm built for drizzle, not whatever this hot stuff is.

Had to cut a walk with the dog short earlier, as we were both overheating. Lovely now though (at just gone eleven at night...)

Bought a portable AC unit before all this heatwave started, feeling pretty good.

bug@lemmy.one · 1 pts · 3y (2 replies)

I considered it, but also I'd then feel like I was ultimately just adding to the problem!

I have solar panels on our roof, so I'm using the sun, to defeat the sun >:D

Checkmate!

Much better yesterday and today, not even had to turn a fan on today. Still too warm to sleep in bed last night though, I was on the couch.

For the past couple of days here it has been much more managable. Currently 18c but quite breezy.

Finnbot@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 3y

Same here, 19 currently but a nice wind. Currently out the back studying and quite enjoying it.

Much nicer here today, lovely breeze. However the humidity was in the 90's this morning so it's very sticky!

Hossenfeffer@feddit.uk · 2 pts · 3y

In the office today. The aircon units are dripping all over the desks.

BigVault@kbin.social · 2 pts · 3y

Just finished work and I’ve been sticky as hell with the humidity.

Portable AC unit went straight on when I got home. Lovely.

The storm was so good. Running on 3 hours sleep and woke up to the storm, would have loved to have just made a coffee and have a lazy morning in bed. The WFH lot have got things figured!

Pleasantly breezy outside, but the house is still absolutely boiling. Can't crack a window as my dumb cats will jump out of it and hurt themselves. Roll on autumn!

Hikyuri@kbin.social · 2 pts · 3y

It's cooler than last week but the humidity has skyrocketed so much, that it feels almost as hot and unpleasant anyway.

NickwithaC@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 3y

The heat isn't as bad as the pollen.
