Bay Area downpours, thunderstorms possible in Hurricane Hilary's wake

I thought hurricanes were a Florida thing. I don't remember one in California.

I'm worried for my friends in San Diego. And the people in Baja. Strap in guys, or better yet head for somewhere drier.
