The dude knew, he wrote about it in his book, and his story falls apart at least as far as not knowing about it until recently.
As for money, he was in the NFLPA, which should mean that he qualified to use their "qualified financial advisers" and the fact he hasn't raised a fuss about anything money related except the movie, that leads me to assume they weren't skimming off him. The whole thing is a fucking mess, but I am not convinced they did anything wrong nor am I convinced they are innocent. But, I think pubic opinion claiming they are evil is a bit premature since his book says he knew.

Funny how Lewis was a friend of Sean Tuohy before Oher came into the picture and now they’re all rich and have all benefited from Oher’s talent. Even the Tuohy kids! Don’t they all have jobs in sports related fields? They used him, plain and simple

The book isn't entirely out of line with his current allegations, which is that he was misled as to what was happening and what the documents he signed actually meant. Knowing the technical term doesn't necessarily mean he knew the legal distinctions.
That said, you're right in that it's a mess and at this point not much else to do than let the courts figure it out.

How did these people STILL have a conservatorship for a man who is, what, 40'ish years old? For context, conservatorship for an adult would give people the same power as they would any other guardianship (like for a child under 18). It's often used for those who care for disabled adults, or the elderly with dementia. It's to help protect people's health and finances when they can't do so for themselves. How did the Tuohys' survive him signing a contract for the NFL? He didn't have an agent, or an attorney, able to figure out that this thing existed and help him get rid of it?
This is not much different than what happened with Britney, where everyone around her contributed to keeping her under conservatorship, except this feels a little more "southern" and handled with some good ole boys the family knew.

It's because they led him to believe that he was signing adoption papers, when in actuality they were conservatorship papers. Since they have a conservatorship over him, they were likely the ones in charge of all the meetings with the NFL, as well. Oher doesn't seem to have realized that he had been duped all along until just recently. I imagine that he just assumed they were acting as his "manager".
