Face in the Foliage
Charlie and I were sitting outside this morning when a female summer tanager (Piranga rubra) stopped in the oak tree that stands inside our fenced backyard. I took a few snaps but only managed one where her head and face were clearly visible. It occurs to me I’ve never photographed a male—he must be around somewhere.
