Idk I read it as her mocking the guy through her lawyer. Kinda like "I didn't think I needed to disclose because I thought 'you could always tell' and I wasn't exactly trying to hide it. I didn't really think I could if I tried." But that might be because I tend to read this kind of stuff as if it's being said by James Spader as Alan Shore.

Watkin's lawyers said she saw and presented herself as female but was "visibly and audibly" male, so it would have been "blindingly obvious" to the man that Watkin was not biologically female.

My god. Did he/she have to have a ZZ Top beard to clue this guy in?! Not sure how or why the plaintiff brought this up. I cannot imagine admitting to such stupidity, in court no less. And they had more than one encounter! What a weird case.

Anyway, I'm saying I have a very hard time believing this man was tricked. OTOH, lying to get laid is indeed assault.
