She was high ranking royalty, he was a young unpaid apprentice assigned to her.

Plus, half the time they're flying around on his spaceships, even if he wanted to say "no", he couldn't because of the implication.

This isn't a documentary. There isn't stuff happening behind the scenes that we aren't being shown. This is a story being told and, unwittingly or not, that is the behavior being portrayed.
