A Sargasso Sea has existed for many centuries in The Marches; the most common Ethereals there are nereids (above) and selkies (below). Once a terrifying place of stagnant heat and hideous sea monsters, it slowly floated over towards Blandine's side as its Corporeal analogues became better-known to scientists (the publication of C.S. Lewis' Perelandra also played a small part). A corner remains under Beleth's control, but the floating masses therein are now predominantly made of rotten plastic flotsam rather than the sargassum plant.
