Indeed it would. From what I have read and seen, I actually think this could be a lot of fun, and would be enough for me to start back up my membership. But every player uninterested in it can simply ignore it the same way they ignore having fun with Cooking
What's toxic about not wanting a new skill? The voting system is in game to vote in/exclude content we don't want. Literally the purpose is for community to decide if something should be part of the game or not.
I don't want sailing, and there's others who don't want it. I genuenly hope that amount is more than 30% of the player base voting.

I haven't played for years but I enjoy the memes and YouTube content. Sailing would mean more content to watch so I hope it passes

Devil's advocate, it's not optional if you want to keep your max cape, which is probably the best QoL item in the game

Not only max cape but it affects almost all game forward. Imagine you make an account and opt out from magic or prayer.
