College football Week 1 winners and losers: LSU's win at Clemson saves SEC from really rough start to 2025

I for one don't understand the 'SEC underperformed week 1' narrative. Texas lost a tight game to a good team (with terrible qb play), Kentucky had a weak showing and alabama may simply not be the team they were for the past two decades (c'mon Shula era tide, make that comeback!). But otherwise the conference looked good imo.
