The joke is that true fans of fighting games hate them because they complain about various details of them. If we was casual fan of fighting games and not a "true fan", he would have said "yes, I love fighting games!"

Is tourist in this case a term for casual fan? If so I hadn't seen that term before.

It's more for a casual in a hardcore space. So if a casual fighting game fan was at Evo or something, he'd be a tourist.
