Shopping online for clothes is never an easy task. While there are massive online stores offering a wide variety of items at affordable prices, picking the perfect size can often feel like a gamble—especially for beginners.

Thanks so much for getting the discussion thread started @cara_cream ! 😄💜 The instance downtime since last week has been a bit tough to work around. I also want to say that life's been a bit emotionally tumultuous for me recently and even if I didn't respond to the comments from everyone on last months thread, I still read every single one and I appreciate you all and the stories you have to tell! 🥰 Thanks for being a part of the community!
As for the questions, honestly I never really got into shopping for clothes online. I kind of wish I had, but it just doesn't work for my brain and photos and reviews are so fake nowadays that it's tough. I like to be able to see if the fit is good right away without having to go through the return process just to test something. It always just felt like a hassle because like you say, sizing is a gamble and the odds are already stacked against me.
I honestly wish I had a good solution, but because of where I live there's not too much in the way of brick and mortar stores so I've just slowly accumulated pieces one by one over time. I don't usually do the more fetishy dress stuff, but I would like a few good sets of lingerie(and maybe a maid outfit 😝) for photos and special occasions if anyone has experience with decently priced retailers. Like you say, the risk of things fitting atrociously or even tearing is tough to stomach if the pieces are expensive.

I bought my first fem clothes recently and the sizing really did throw me off. Some items weren't listed with actual measurements and had a sort of one size fits all tag. It might have been because I was buying from a sex toy store and not an actual woman's clothing store.
The stockings I bought fit perfectly though and feel so sexy. I definitely want to get a set with garters.
I want to buy some leggings too. Nice and tight around my ass and crotch so that the outline of my cage would be clear. Does anyone have any good brand recommendations?

it's common for sex or fetish stores to have one size fits all for the clothing, so i generally avoid them. On the leggins i've not tried yet, more a skirt fan here

I've got my bra and panty sizes down, at VS anyway. Material is important: for holding balls (I like them never to slip out), and chest breathability
I've learned not to try to buy multiples of the same outfit/whatever in different colours until I've sufficiently stress-tested one colour first (otherwise risk of waste of money is high!, poor fit, etc.)
I got a dildo specifically for deepthroat training 🙈. It's a lot smaller than my other dildos. Size queen identity confirmed lol
I went to a 'lash lounge' and got my eyebrows done (threaded) a couple of weeks ago. I would give it a 'highly recommended'. 1) it lasts long, 2) is not expensive ($30 CAD - that's like the cost of a basic no-polish manicure), 3) every time I look at my face in the mirror I like the more effortlessly feminine look to it (formatting not to bury the headline lol), 4) it's a barely uncomfortable/painful procedure - I didn't mind it at all. 5) It can be pretty discreet - eg cis guys get it done. It was fun to talk to the person doing it without moving my eyebrows, which I realized is a very artificial feeling thing to do. When I went in, I said to them tat I'd like my eyebrows to be more feminine looking, and they were like: okay let's start off with doing less and we can do more if/when, and their first pass worked. Maybe I'll femme it up a little more next time 💅

I am a rabid environmentalist and try to buy secondhand - I've started using depop to supplement the op shops but the sizing has sucked for me so far. I'll keep trying...

As for my experience, buying only from amazon is quite tricky. Lingerie sets are quite small since most of them are one size, definitely not suitable for a slightly large body like mine. I pay special attention on every item only buying where measurements are provided. 1st corset was a gamble, ended up ordering a size too large it was too loose, but being stubborn as i am i bought thread and stitched togheter to make that fit.
