Who has money to spend on a subscription?

Also even when I had money, I don't want to keep buying the game every month. It's stressful, and sometimes I like playing other things.

Looking at the amount of money gacha and other "free"-to-play titles are pulling these days, it seems like quite a few people have lots of money to burn on gaming.

You're probably more correct than not. I'd be curious to see like those people's budgets. How many are carrying credit card debt or neglecting other parts of their life to spend on digital gambling?

That's likely what is preventing any new subscription based mmo. Why bother with a reliable and fair price when lootbox bullshit makes you 10x the money.
