Evans is a perfect generic buff white guy. He is meaty milk toast. He can be any character that is white, attractive, and inoffensive. He is water to the pallet of acting, basic and unremarkable in his adaptability.
He can't become a character, but he can't be a character if they could be Chris Evans.
He couldn't play Calvin Candie in Django, he couldn't play Vineyard in American History X, but he can be that white guy you need when you need a white guy that isn't Chunk from The Goonies.
He needs to branch out and be ugly like Benicio or Depp in Fear and Loathing, Kingsley in anything, or Gary Oldman in anything. He needs to be ugly so his prowess can shine because that is how an actor becomes a legend.
