Estimates for trans people 13+ range from 0.8% to 5%
If mass shootings were evenly distributed by that metric we should have between 39-246 perpetrated by trans people.
Politifact has slightly different numbers (and does a lot of explaining on how there are so many definitions of mass shootings which makes it so hard to analyze evenly) and counts 7 trans shooters.
If all seven shooting incident attackers included in Gorka and Fox News’ lists were counted, that would be seven out of 4,147 mass shootings from 2018 to 2025, based on Gun Violence Archive data — a rate of 0.17% as of Sept. 4.
Looking at 5 trans shooters out of 4917 shootings gives us a trans shooter rate of 0.10%.
98% of shooters are CIS men according to the Politifact numbers. CIS women are 2%.
Of course! The real numbers are even lower than I had guessed.
Other searches show trans folk are 4x more likely to be victims of violence, 2x more likely to be victims of property crimes like vandalism, are half as likely to report being victimized (Source), and even over 2x more likely to be the victims of violence or sexual violence by an intimate partner. (Source)
Instead of finding new ways to victimize trans people, this should really be setting off alarm bells everywhere that they are criminally underserved by our legal system!
To an extent I agree. It is very sad that an issue of public safety has been politicized so we can't compare things apples to apples. That there are laws against the government studying gun violence is insane.
But no matter how someone wants to manipulate numbers, I'm not sure how one would arrange things to make trans people come anywhere near the number of gun deaths resulting from CIS men in any legitimate way. To infringe on trans people's rights while doing nothing to those of other people should clearly be illegal.

I would note that the source stretches the definition of a mass shooting far beyond what we all have in mind when we hear the term.
One might note, the Mother Jones numbers on this list are hardly coming from a conservative source. None of them are.

It's about a tenth of a percent. There are way too many mass shootings.

So they do actually believe in gun control?
Sure, it's for all the wrong reasons. Still good to shine a light on the hypocrisy.

Liberals should all start carrying ARs like the blank Panthers in the past and well see how fast it gets banned or controlled.

Florida's close to legislating open carry. The court shot down the ban as unconstitutional and our fascist governor wants a bill on his desk.
If this flies, you can be damned sure I'm slinging my AR at every protest.

Those gun-grabbing democrats are at it again.
