It doesn’t really matter. The left is always pushing for peace and unity. The right is always pushing for violence and division. I'm blaming both on the right.
Hell from what I can tell, Tyler appears to have simply been horrified by the hate and bigotry he witnessed first hand, which put trans lives (like his roommate's) in jeopardy.
That could very well not be the case, but that's what it looks like to me.
I blame the left for not being more violent. It’s led us to where we are.
Just yesterday I was driving home and passed a bunch of people with signs - “down with fascism!” and “No Kings!” and while I agree, I couldn’t help but think of how they’ve managed to pass gun ban after gun ban and restrictions on top of restrictions in my state.
“We won’t accept a dictator!” (Actual sign, last one I could see as I drove by) <- motherfuckers, exactly how do you plan on not accepting him? He runs the media, the election board, has his own gestapo, and all you’ve managed to do is disarm honest people.
I’d sincerely love to be wrong but as far as I can tell we’ve lost, the nation is simply fucking evil now and won’t be going back.
Just watched Laura Ingraham cheer on ICEgestapo body-slamming a Democrat.
Being violent and cheering it on just comes naturally to them. They are like a fish in water when it comes to their violence - until they think they see a liberal or a Democrat doing it.
Then out come the pearls and there is much clutching.
It's like the schoolyard bully ... they love picking on kids smaller and weaker than they are but fall and fold to the ground in a fetal position and start crying when someone stands up to them.
And just like schoolyard mentalities ... the bully is only as strong as the whole school makes them - meaning that if the entire school just stands around and says and does nothing, the bully always wins.
The big problem is that they know. They know they are making the violence, and unfairly complaining about it. Pointing it out changes nothing for them.
They know and they say it anyways and don't care if they are wrong because it works. It is unfortunately working.
If you put 30 underage girls in a room and told Trump he could do anything to the girls in that room and no one would stop him, but he had to talk for 60 seconds and not tell a lie, those girls would be safe.

Could have said trump is LYING.
But, no. Not our corporate news sewers. Only serve the wealthy! Only support the fascists!

The people who listen to Trump do not care about data.

They also can't read. That's why Orange Kool Aid meandering pointless hand waving rambling actually makes sense to them.

It's always been a post-facts world. Propaganda has been around a long time and religion even longer.
homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 333d
Mmmm not really.
I remember when facts were the thing people cared about. Propaganda and religion notwithstanding. I mean “facts don’t matter” isn’t all-or-none.
evenglow@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 332d
Mmmm yes really. I remember reading history books.
homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 332d
Oh yeah? No facts in them, then?

If you had read history books, you wouldn't have asked.

They cheer violence done to those they didn't like, and act shocked if it's done to one of their own, actually.
They blame all violence on the left. Even the violence being done by ICE is the left's fault, you see, because the left "made them do it".
