i'm not gonna pretend i know how open source governance works but this feels like a deep misunderstanding of it. what i've seen done over the years when shit like this happens is devs hard forking or admins migrating to similar projects that actually share their values. my instance has plans to move to piefed, for example.
Regardless of the merits of the petition, holy fuck that is a bad take. When it really comes down to it, the bourgeoisie is not a singular group that does things according to a set series of motivations that are always pursued according to rational self-interest. Yes, it is riddled with contradictions. That should not be a surprise.

It's open source, not really a way to exclude people. You can ban them and not merge their prs, but they can just make a new anonymous account.
