People I have spoken with said they feel safer from deportation in our prison than they would on the street right now, where immigration workplace raids are becoming more common. In fact, some people are delaying parole hearings to stay in prison longer and potentially avoid deportation.

ICE doesn't go after criminals at all, that's not what they do. Trump is just lying
You know who goes after criminals? The fucking police. Then when the police are done with someone, they ping ICE and ask if they want the person. ICE can request a 72 hold to pick them up, and then they go through the immigration courts or whatever
We make them serve any sentence here before ICE comes into play. It's considered a civil matter, everything criminal gets priority
