Nevertheless, Zalando is launching content flagging systems for its website even though there’s little risk of illegal material showing up among its highly curated collection of clothes, bags and shoes

Why isn't this just built into the browsers? Why can't I make a universal setting to reject all unnecessary cookies and have websites recognize that instead of asking me every time? They way this is implemented is asinine.

Edit. Nope, doesn't work on android Firefox. Found add on called Ghostery, works

Twitter about to go offline in EU in 3.. 2..

It will be an interesting test case for sure, whether the EU is willing to take down X/Twitter/whatever if they don't comply. Or if they offer up some half-assed compliance, as per Elon Musk's signature passive aggressive style.

If the EU doesn't react forcefully to that, these regulations will be as good as dead, because why should anyone else comply if Elon gets a free pass?

Yep, that exactly. I would actually be surprised there are a lot of people on the fediverse that actually like Twitter, but I have been surprised before.
