They got Tim McGraw??? What an interesting choice.

Both this and Vox Machina seem to be vibrating on a different emotional frequency than I exist on. Nothing works; the humor isn't funny, the action is dull, the melodrama is tedious and the charisma is utterly non-existent. The ingredients are all there but, for some reason, it just doesn't work and it's so frustrating that I can't explain why. I keep watching, waiting for this all to eventually click, but it never does.

And I don't like feeling this way. I genuinely want to be able to point at something specific that the showrunners are doing and be able to say "that, stop that" or "do this instead" but I can't put my finger on it. It drives me crazy.

I'm curious. I like the idea of Critical Role, but I'm not gonna sit there and watch people play D&D. I love the fact that CR is a bunch of anime voice actors (Matt Mercer, Travis Willingham, and Laura Bailey specifically) and their theater-nerd friends, but it's not something I wanna watch. (I don't do podcasts, either.)

So the idea of a Mighty Nein cartoon (anime?) appeals to me. I expect it'll be some dumb fun, kind of like the recent D&D movie, Honor Among Thieves.
