And you pinky promise you've had a psychological checkup recently?

over_clox@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 337d

Only 28 years ago..

Hey, who was the genius that decided to take spuds out of the ground (potatoes), nuggets out of a chicken's ass (eggs), spoiled alcohol brew (vinegar), cucumbers soaked in said vinegar (pickles), bigass fish out of the sea (tuna), and call that a salad?

The original crazies weren't the ones that first suckled from the cow's teat, it was the tribes of people that accepted it as normal LOL!

Edit: I declare this Peanut Salad.

Yeah these ingredients don't look that far-fetched. Blended together they'd make a great dip.

Grind that all up and you might have a decent dressing.

Rothe@piefed.social · 3 pts · 336d

A kind of pesto in fact.

over_clox@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 337d (2 replies)

Maybe so.. Its not actually half bad, just a bit different. 🤷

TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 337d (1 reply)

I mean if it was blended, I would scoop it with a chip.

over_clox@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 337d

Damn, going by what mess I just ate and tasted, I think you're actually right, it probably would come out as a good chip dip 👍

The kind of "pesto" I sometimes make is peanuts, mayo, garlic and spinach, so I can attest for at least 3 of the 4 ingredients you've used here. Maybe blitz it in a blender? Some salt and pepper and lemon juice as well?

over_clox@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 337d

Spinach?

Don't give me any ideas, I do have a blender..

Fuck, no spinach ☚ī¸

Does cabbage work? Maybe with a sprinkle of marijuana?

Squirliss@piefed.social · 2 pts · 336d (1 reply)

I hate you

over_clox@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 336d

You're welcome

rovingnothing29@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 337d (2 replies)

What does it taste like?

over_clox@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 337d (1 reply)

It tastes better than roadkill, but not quite as good as fried bacon.

Hard to explain really, other than what it is, a combo mix of all those flavors. Try it for yourself if you want, unless you're allergic to any of those ingredients.. 🤷

Alexstarfire@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 336d

That's quite a range of quality.

just_another_person@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 337d (1 reply)

.........why?

over_clox@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 337d

There is no why really, except for pure randomness.

And yes, I'm eating this mess right now LOL!

Not as bad as I might have thought..

VocationConfining@piefed.social · 2 pts · 337d (2 replies)

I think the real crime is using a Styrofoam bowl at home alone. Use a washable dish!

over_clox@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 337d (1 reply)

Don't worry, I washed it afterwards.

It was just basically the smallest sort of bowl we had around to test such a food crime.

It's a delicacy yo, it's an acquired taste in some cultures.

I don't know what cultures are growing in this, but I'm eating it...

Maybe I'm a culture of one 🤷
