Anyone who thinks we can do it without quantum computing doesn't understand anything about consciousness/intelligence or computing...
Most likely both.
We're decades away from having a single AGI running on billions of dollars of equipment.
Centuries away from it being easily accessible to any random person on a whim.
But in a capitalist society, hype matters more than anything. So they're gonna keep lying to idiots that it's almost here to drive up stock prices.
No one is legitimately trying to make an AGI, they're trying to make a convincing fake to trick investors. Which ironically delays AGI, because anyone being honest about it, ain't getting funded over the grifters
