@originalpoetry Alone with Friends
Surrounded on all sides.
Never without company.
Am I not still alone?
Home is not in sight,
but many leagues away.
Friends to the left and right.
Alas my mind is not present.
Yearning the company of home,
not a friend in sight can help.
Distance measured in leagues.
Is being in company alone?
My mind is yet to see that company keeps.
Finally I tell my love of my return.
Home is where I return.
Soon, my love, we shan’t be alone.

Your word choices reminds me of Tolkien. Not that I would mistake the poem for his, for your styles are different. But the choice of word specifically.
Thanks for posting!
Also your name is a very poet name.

@SnokenKeekaGuard I am honored by your comparison! I love Tolkien. He is a master author imo

@Karl yeah I was writing in my feels. Been away from home for almost 8 months now and missing my wife. I love writing freestyle poetry. Something that helps me work my mind and emotions out when it’s hard.
