Vladimir Putin carrying bags for Anatoly Sobchak, the mayor of St. Petersburg, in 1992.

It's weird to see Putin like this.

7 years later, after fleeing Russia for corruption charges, his friend Putin, soon to be Prime Minister, got the charges dropped and brought him back home.

Less than a year later, he died of suspected poisoning.

That’s just the highs and lows of being Putin’s friend.

One day you’re cooking hot dogs and the next your airplane is being shot out of the sky.

Interesting note, his right hand is free and he has two briefcase in his left hand. I think he was more than just an aide.

Lol why is this black&white. It’s 1992 not 1942.

Yes, but it's 1992 in Russia.

(jokes aside, I wondered the same thing)

That era primed many Putins, killing one doesn’t really change anything.

That's why I carry my own bags. Don't wanna make dictators.

He fought his way up, unlike other dictators eg Xi and Trump inherited money or power.

Didn't Xi's dad end up in a Chinese gulag when Xi was still young?

Thats an interlude. Billionaires sometimes broke, but they came back richer.
