Because the definition of catfishing is a person seeking romance online but sending a picture of someone who looks better than themselves...
But _________ is the practice of a network of scamsters who steal pictures of extremely attractive people from all over the internet, and now even entirely fake ai gorgeous images, and use them for dating sites and advertisements with the ultimate goal of scamming money out of desperate romance seekers.
seriously what's the word, I saw a YouTube video calling it out ... But I can't find it because the only word I can think of is catfishing. And when you look up catfishing of course that's what you get, either people literally fishing for catfish LOL or the OG catfishing scams.
I'm fairly certain the OPs are NOT the women shown in the photos. OPs are a network of scamster men who lure people into the DMs to lure money out of them.
Because REAL women who look this good do NOT feel the need to post their absolute best money-worthy photos to strangers. Unless they're sociopaths. Real non-sociopathic women who look that good are doing just fine out in the real world and don't need validation or fashion advice from internet strangers, especially not from the demographic found here on Lemmy.
The only audience they'd find here is a small thirsty depraved pathetic percentage willing to throw money at her. Sure, there are plenty of sociopathic women willing to use their beauty to manipulate money from men. But posts like this smell like, at best, a team of people using her face & breasts to lure money from incels.
