I had a proc with a couple bent pins, my pocket knife was th perfect width to be able to straighten them back out.

Oh neat! I've used the file of a nail clipper (flat side, of course because I know me). Went surprisingly well

Another trick is to use a mechanical pencil without lead and stick the pin in the tip of the pencil.
