To explain. I already have numerous bases for various resources and construction projects. I would also like to have one base per galaxy. Seeing as there are 255 galaxies, this will increase the number considerably, especially if I cannot resist building more than one per galaxy. How many bases can I build?

At just over 35 pieces per base, you’ll hit the 16,000 part limit far before you reach the base limit

Yes. I assume it's an engine limit. Not sure if this can easily be extended.
