i don't get it can someone go into great detail why this is funny? please include relevant lore and fanfics. 3 sentence minimum

  • woman notices lipstick on man's clothing
  • this means he is probably cheating on her
  • he tries to defend himself
  • the audience expects her to get upset
  • however, ironically she seemingly does not care, and instead appears to actually be reacting positively (she likes the lipstick and wants more information so she can get it herself)
  • this ironic twist is the main point of the meme

Had to look up what a dungaree is (apparently it's an old word for denim cloth), but unless the guy works in a museum I really doubt he has any of that :D

In the UK at least it's a specific type of clothing -- a kind of overally thing -- that doesn't have to be denim; could be corduroy etc
