Across Southern California, a joint operation involving ICE, U.S. Marshals, and other federal agents led to multiple kidnappings and violent detentions from the shooting of TikTok reporter RichardLA in Los Angeles to aggressive day-laborer raids in Sylmar, Reseda, and Thousand Oaks while heavily armed masked agents were also seen intimidating residents in Santa Ana and other cities throughout the day.

So, how do we humiliate shame and cripple these assholes?

I'm not against killing them, but given their fetishization of necropolitics I dont think individual deaths are as useful as humiliating them and making them look weak.

Publicly televised arrests, unmasking, denaturalization, and sentencing for crimes against humanity. Have them serve jail time in the same prisons they’ve been sending immigrants to, without any concern as to their safety or nationality, just like immigrants. If they want to return to the US when their sentence ends, they can apply like normal immigrants to become US citizens.

Okay, but what is something a citizen can do? I think that's what the question really was.

Doxxing them is about it. If you really want to stand for something raid the ICE facilities with some pissed of veterans? No idea man. The real winning move was not getting here in the first place. Now that we are here there are no good options especially when the fascists are torqued for any violence, just egging it on.

I think the solution is absurdity. Violent or not. Fascists can't cope with it. It undermines everything about their rhetoric power structures and authority.

Both to keep it from being normal, and so ice agents are running from big bird.

Like, sure, kill them if you want, but a series of devious ambushes by a team of badass operators isn't going to do as much damage as a man in a cat costime shouting "lemon stealing whore!" as he charges one and puts him in the hospital with wounds from a giant purple dildo.

The inflated frog costumes in Portland did a great job of making the national guard presence look utterly ridiculous.

Those are all things to punish them with after youve won and are holding the power of the state.

And ²none of the people likely to do that are ever going to diminish the power of the state¹ by punishing its agents for acting under orders.

This would be completely useless even if it weren't politically impossible fantasy nonsense². This also very cleanly absolves you of any obligation to do literally anything about the problem.

What are you going to fucking do about it? Like with your hands? Genuinely getting all crayolacore, making a mean sign, literally posting about how ice are big dumb poppy heads and drawing a stick figure with stink lines captioned 'ice agent' is more useful than anything you've proposed here.

¹which they now control

Only by showing them your community is steadily supportive of you and your peers, a concept unknown to many ice guys. They are riding the tide of political favor, but it won't last, they were lent power and pay as long as they are loyal and useful, but at the same time they are more at risk than any person that they can detain.

You won't be abandoned by your folks in any struggle, and their bosses can just röhm they away like a used condom, like it did happen in Germany.

cassandrafatigue@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 307d (1 reply)

Okay, an actual response! Vague as hell, but it makes sense because there's so fucking many says to do it.

There is a general direction - to make them feel like the real foreigners they are. There are a lot things one can do, from raising awareness, ensuring alert system communications between peers, making vulnerable workplaces inaccessible to casual ice inspectors or something more spicy - to even banal graffities they would read every day of their deployment to the area. And in these, nothing but biggotry is off the board. Infantilization, references to if their mother is safe rn or if their mother would be proud of them cosplaying tough dudes are first obvious things to play with. They are school dropouts tresspassing on other people's lawn. Dig into their own mentality and find why they themselves won't like such a visitor from their status quo small gov delusions, talk their language.

Lived in the San Fernando Valley for over 15 years before moving away four years ago. I've been to the Home Depot in Sylmar when I first moved there and lived very close to car wash in Reseda before moving. It was my go to car wash. My adult son lives less than five minutes away.

I'm guess I'm posting this for myself because this just makes me so sad. There are lots of Latinos are Reseda, likely the majority. Most of them just want to work and make their lives a little better.
