Can anyone report this to the authorities? I think the maker of the site lives in Italy.

How did you even find this?

@perchance@lemmy.world This may be important.

much is suspicious about this but yes i think the correct avenue for @perchance@lemmy.world to take is to send this 'backup' snapshot of the generator with ip address and email if email exists to some digital law enforcement place to pursue. yall agree thats teh correct path? If it's the first time, it should be good experience for Perchance too.

Absolutely the best path, like it's a no-brainer the police should get involved so nobody gets hurt.

@perchance@lemmy.world try and ping the admin, right? Also commenting so this gets visibility and reported to the police.

Perchance chat is gonna get the site shut down I swear.

Any forum with a buncha unhinged weirdos + underage users is trouble waiting to happen for the site. People wanna chat , do that on Lemmy or whatever other moderated forums there are IMO.

The mods should be held accountable for this. The kid ventured in deep where he didn't belong and it top to bottom messed him up. Somone posted a week ago that they're noticing minors in adult chatrooms just to end up being ridiculed with ridiculously carefree responses from a mod-level individual. My jaw dropped at this mod's responses, as he even went on to saying, he would consciously 'help' minors stay in adult chatrooms and it's not in their 'personality' to take actions that a sane and responsible mod would have done otherwise.

With all due respect, that's an extremely volatile and unfounded accusation. Moderators are not the therapists of the world and are certainly not responsible for this kind of behavior.
Nothing on a single website can make a kid like this. Being isolated really helps. The core of this stupid, destructive impulse is way beyond anything perchance or a single website can do.

People shoot up schools because they want to be remembered and they want their rage to be legitimized. Short of reporting him if his IP is known, the best way to deal with this is just to ignore it. This is a desperate and pathetic act, and giving it attention just makes people like this feel successful at something.

Is the parents fault and the background that made him take this path,mods can't babysit other people kids

Mack2@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 293d

The chat on my page isn't very busy, but even with a slow chat I don't always catch everything that happens there. I can't be online 24/7 to monitor it. This is a hobby, not my job. You also have to remember that "minor" means different things in different countries and there is no real age verification here. The "minor" you are referring to could very well have been an adult trolling or even law enforcement trying to attract a predator.

asector@lemmynsfw.com · 2 pts · 293d

What, how is this the mod's fault??
