They opened it up to everyone this year. Prior to that it was only available for Mullvad subscribers.

Me too, after SearXNG couldn't fetch google results anymore, Leta was big help. There were intermittent errors but i t would start working again eventually.

Sad to see it go away.

I recommended Kagi - its primarily focused on a better search experience, but privacy is built into the architecture.

Text search is great, image search still needs work

Kagi is a bit slower than most of the big players, but that's made up for, and then some a lot, by actually getting me what I'm looking for. Strong recommend.
