Nintendo should put Daisy in whatever sequel movie they do for Mario Bros.

Protip: Don't look at the comments.

Yes, people found a way to be triggered even by a Mario meme about pickles.

Over pickles?

If you’re doing this over pickles, you’re taking turns being Karens.

EDIT: Wow, some pretty Karen-like reactions to a post arguing for decency. And this on a community that‘s supposedly for relationship advice.

EDIT 2: Sure is weird, and sad, that so many commenters below think it’s OK to abuse restaurant workers. Good thing they can be blocked. I don’t have to listen to them. feel sorry for the people they inflict their bad attitudes on though.

How dare people complain about being served the wrong food, they're acting like they ordered something, payed for it and didn't get it.

otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 15 pts · 269d

Paid*

"Payed" is a nautical term.

Also, fuck yes. 🙌🏼

lettruthout@lemmy.world · -16 pts · 269d (20 replies)

A decent person would handle the situation differently. In the US anyway food service people are poorly paid. Most are trying their best. A simple request should correct the error. Acting like an entitled jerk unnecessarily hurts them and makes you look bad.

Macchi_the_Slime@piefed.blahaj.zone · 24 pts · 269d (14 replies)

Nothing about Daisy's speech bubble indicates she's yelling. The only emphasis is on "no pickles" and she said excuse me. Context is pretty clear here that just before this Luigi had asked whoever is serving them for his to be with no pickles and was ignored and Daisy is politely, but firmly restating his request.

You're the only one ascribing any kind of ill manner to what she's doing. Nothing that we're presented with indicates that she is being anything other than polite to whatever wait staff she is interacting with.

lettruthout@lemmy.world · -11 pts · 269d (6 replies)

Look again…. Her stance, facial expression and the emphasis on no pickles all point to an aggressive approach to a situation that does not warrant it. Have a little sympathy for the person behind the counter, OK?

So... because she's a woman and is showing even the slightest bit of irritation at watching Luigi get ignored? Got it.

I've been the person behind the counter, honey. So I say again, I've seen the kind of demons the service industry has to offer and this is not one of them. You can be polite and firm at the same time and this is what it looks like.

To each his own.

PS: Stop trying to make this a sexist thing. It makes you sound sexist. This meme would be just as needlessly aggressive and abusive if the roles were reversed.

Macchi_the_Slime@piefed.blahaj.zone · 11 pts · 269d

You're the one saying there is aggression and abuse here. There's none of the stylistic choices to the bubbles or lettering that usually indicate yelling. The lettering is consistent and even with only a mild bolding on "no pickles" indicating a very even tone with slight emphasis on the bolded words.

Oh no she's got her hands on her hips and a slightly annoyed expression, but nothing indicating any movement or action. Nothing indicating she's doing anything more than standing in that position. There's no lines drawn coming from her mouth indicating she's yelling, her hands are at her sides very non-aggressively.

Literally everything about the context in which this is presented implies that the situation is that she just spoke up calmly but firmly. YOU are the only one ascribing any kind of ill intent to this. Your stated reason? checks notes her stance and her facial expression... and I'm supposed to... not read this as you just saying "Woman Angy... Woman Wrong"

Riiiiight.

THIS TOTALLY DOESNT IMPLY YELLING LMAO

Macchi_the_Slime@piefed.blahaj.zone · 14 pts · 269d (4 replies)

You... you do know that most comic book style lettering doesn't do regular like lower and upper case right? It's all generally upper case and they use the bubbles to indicate yelling vs regular speech vs thought etc

Example

Different example

ngdev@lemmy.zip · -11 pts · 269d (3 replies)

this isn't a hill im gonna die on, was just pointing out that all caps in fact could imply yelling. nice job hunting down and linking examples lol this must be a very important internet argument for you

Macchi_the_Slime@piefed.blahaj.zone · 12 pts · 269d

Important enough for you to leave a face saving comment about how you definitely weren't wrong and definitely aren't dying on this hill and it's actually me that's silly for finding examples of what I'm taking about lmao 🤡

Spamming an argument in no way makes it better

lettruthout@lemmy.world · -14 pts · 269d (3 replies)

If you’re referring to the repeated response, it was done so that each commenter would get it. Not everyone lurks on a post to monitor reactions to other people’s comments.

njm1314@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 269d (2 replies)

Between spamming and the tone of this comment I think its fair to say you have no business lecturing anyone on polite forms of communications.

lettruthout@lemmy.world · -10 pts · 269d (1 reply)

Attacking instead of debating the sign of someone with a weak position. I am immune from your consultation.

Macchi_the_Slime@piefed.blahaj.zone · 9 pts · 269d

Seeing how your reaction to actual debate is to entirely ignore the actual points being made and double down you've probably got no business debating either 🤡🤡🤡

Food containing things that you specifically told them not to put in it is a major problem. If people cant trust whats in their food then people with allergies are just not able to eat food outside their home anymore.

Macchi_the_Slime@piefed.blahaj.zone · 10 pts · 269d

Okay no wait I hadn't read the post title. they're totally being a condescending ass. Disregard me completely.

Soulg@ani.social · 15 pts · 269d (3 replies)

This is a simple request. "Hey, he asked for no pickles. There's pickles. Fix it"

Honytawk@feddit.nl · 1 pts · 269d (2 replies)

Can't you say that in a less bitching way?

Humans make mistakes, no reason to yell at them. If you ask politely they are more likely to help you quickly.

Macchi_the_Slime@piefed.blahaj.zone · 5 pts · 269d

idk I read it as they hadn't gotten their food yet and the request for no pickles was ignored as in the server or whoever didn't acknowledge it had been made. So this was Daisy cutting in and making sure that Luigi was heard.

Walk_blesseD@piefed.blahaj.zone · 3 pts · 264d

Ah yes, "Excuse me, he asked for no pickles" is "bitching," apparently. I'm sure you have totally normal opinions about women.

AwesomeLowlander@sh.itjust.works · 11 pts · 269d (2 replies)

A simple request should correct the error.

My reading of this comic was that this is AFTER he got rejected for complaining mildly.

njm1314@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 269d

That's absolutely the correct reading.

Honytawk@feddit.nl · 2 pts · 269d

I'm reading it as Luigi being introvert and didn't want to make a fuss.

Hawke@lemmy.world · 20 pts · 269d

Yeah I mean allergy limitations are just a suggestion right?

RaivoKulli@sopuli.xyz · 12 pts · 269d

You ordered and paid for a certain product. It's normal to expect it to be as ordered
