It's Tuesday 11/11/2025. Hey, What's Going On!

I got the date right! Made some more ugly baguettes. These are the five minute baguettes and are not supposed to look perfect. You can see how the oven I used bakes unevenly. I don't usually use this one for bread baking. But I was trying to get ready for work at the same time.

This post is for casual conversation if you don’t feel like making a post of your own

Sick again, and the insurance is going away so. Like.

Everything sucks quite a bit.

Wish you get well soon

Hang in there!

Five minutes?

I'm assuming from combining ingredients to putting in the oven?

How?

Got a recipe?

Thanks for posting this! I want to give it a try, i love bread and have attempted to get into making some numerous times... Just never get past the "fascination with new potential hobby, must study all the things" phase and onto the whole "actually doing the hobby" phase lol

I've worked with a psychologist and he said that, yes, it would make sense to work on a broken forklift, so im doing that

Work on as in fix. Or continue to work on an unsafe piece of equipment?

kamillz@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 2 pts · 298d

I'm trying to make it work again. It starts and runs, but I refuses to move forward or backwards

Would it ruin the bread if you rotated it halfway through the baking cycle?

Rooster326@programming.dev · 3 pts · 298d (1 reply)

No but it might remove any moisture/steam in the oven.

SpikesOtherDog@ani.social · 3 pts · 298d

Yeah, and I guess trying to replace it will drive the temp down further.

Lexam@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 298d (1 reply)

I had it on my baking stone. I could have but it would have been a pain. My larger regular oven doesn't have this problem.

SpikesOtherDog@ani.social · 3 pts · 298d

Well it's pretty good bread for a crappy oven.

I have to ask: Did you scream this question at the top of your lungs?

Lexam@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 298d (1 reply)

Every morning starts with screaming. Usually it's the cats screaming at me.

j4yc33@piefed.social · 3 pts · 298d

Fair point, fair point. :-D

Grats on making the bread. Having some is better that none.

Today is cold here. For me reminds me of how I feel inside my own head. Gotta keep trying to be positive though.
