I’ve been pretty thick skinned about tech getting worse and worse, by just barreling forward to get what I want with enough stubbornness. Boiling frog etc
One day, suddenly, it might become impossible to archive/rip from YouTube without a sophisticated setup that has multiple burner accounts. That day will fucking break something in me. Right now, it is one of the most critical repositories of media period. I have nothing but respect to the federated alternative video platforms crowd but still being able to shuck YouTube for its content is absolutely critical.
