The real problem is a lack of taxation. It should be harder to make money the more you have. Not easier. Just like in sports it should be harder to play in college than high school and harder still in the pros.

Just here to say thanks for using Calvin instead of the scumbag.

You're welcome. Yeah. I always felt unclean when I used the scumbag's meme. I'm done with that now.

I'm looking mostly at Don's and the Heritage Foundation's owners including Peter Thiel, Tim Mellon and especially Rebekah Mercer.

By “civilization” do you mean “capitalism”?

SomeGirlsHaveAPenis@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 272d

No, I meant civilization. Perhaps "society" would be an acceptable substitution. Now if you're asking if capitalism is the cancer that causes the tumorous growths of horrible, soulless billionaires? -- that I would I answer in the affirmative. Capitalism, however, can be constrained by people if there is will to do so. Human greed and the lust for unbridled power seems to mitigate that potential constraint.

I would argue instead "civilization" itself is the problem being always built to centralize power and maintain the current ruling class.
