Cats have much more space between their vertebrae it makes their spine a lot more flexible, which is why they look so comfortable pretty much anywhere. They just don't experience strain on their spine. Because we walk upright, our vertebrae need to be closer for stability so we're pretty rigid which means we're rarely comfortable and very susceptable to fall damage.

They also have a lot less mass, so there's less weight pushing them against surfaces, makinguneven surfaces a lot less uncomfy for them
