Originally intended as a place to test out the unmerged PR’s of the official Aider project, Aider-CE has gone it's own way

Thank you this is awesome!

For months I have lamented that aider progress has slowed, they rejected anything agentic. I ended up building my own frankenversion with various PRs. This looks perfect.

Honest question: pros and cons of focusing on this aider fork, versus CodeX

Would truly value any opinions

I can't speak about Codex - I have tried OpenCode, gemini-cli and claude code (with DeepSeek)

I will have to look at Codex also - only so many hours in a day, though! Aider-CE is still a bit buggy but the chief maintainer is someone who you can talk to, and somewhat of a genius imo. The new grep based search/replace is increadible in Agent mode. I think the main drawback is lack of documentation but we are working on it!

IMO CodeX is worth checking, more so than gemini-cli or opencode. The agentic framework has lots of bells & whistles for context management and tool use that could be pulled into aider
