If the symbol represents options, then the website contradicts the message by removing user choice. A symbol of options shouldn't be forced, it should be optional.
Idk man, it's not your webserver. I suppose as a user you often just gotta live with the options provided to you. You're provided with a place to talk and share your opinion here. And so is everyone, so you'll have to find a way to cope with other people's opinions.
Edit: And I think especially with the opinion of your host because that trumps your opinion as a guest. Maybe you can have fun anyway, maybe you're at the wrong party.

Have queer-affirming imagery up indicates an openness to options. As someone pro-options, I'd expect you to understand that.
