The POUM was made up of anti-Stalinist socialists and communists so yes that tracks

On top of that, funny enough, he found over the course of the war that he agreed more with the more radical left position of the Spanish Anarchists over the POUM. Not that he broke with the POUM over that realization or anything, he just noted that it was amusing.

Wow, I've only ever seen head shots of Orwell. I had no idea he was that tall. I don't remember him mentioning it in any writings but maybe I wasn't paying enough attention! Literally a head above the rest.
