when i heard of "white collar" jobs, i genuinely thought it was a metaphor for those kindsa controlling collars, as i didnt know those top parts of business shirts werr called collars at all ---- like -
the boss giving each worker a differently colored collar based off of their job to make them feel special--- whilenstill very much controlling things and stealing all the möni.
