You know Reddit is screwing up when the amount of Lemmy instances spikes up like this
And it's only been a week... How do you think it's going to end?
Reddit will probably still be massive but I can see a lot of quality content moving to the fediverse. What do you think?

Yeah… I’m honestly surprised how quickly a community has formed over here even with the furry instances, I already see plenty of furs from other places joining in on the discussions! The mastodon migration felt a bit more chaotic I think.
I guess one thing that helps is discoverability is better here across instances since the votes are properly federated and there is backfilling, and maybe redditors are more willing to organize? We’ll see that even more on monday, that’s gonna be fun!

Also there's something weird going on with some posts from mastodon like this one, I can't reply to them from lemmy (there's just a spinner) and replies don't show up there either

Apparently you need to select a language to make it work from Lemmy to Mastodon.

@Wander Oh! I guess that means Mastodon doesn't like when the language is undetermined?
I wonder if it's Lemmy violating the spec or Mastodon not handling something that should be valid...

Maybe it's just a bug that happens when language is undetermined and that's why it isn't even sent. It can't be Mastodon (I think) because otherwise we would see the message on Lemmy as sent but it wouldn't appear on Masto.

@Wander Lemmy may be getting a rejection when trying to post to the masto instance, since the original post with its list of replies doesn't live on Lemmy. I guess if you haven't you should try checking your logs for any errors?
